An authorized translation is that translation that is endorsed by the translator authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice using a registered signature and stamp.

Notarised Translation
Do you need notarised translations?
Do the state authorities ask you to provide the notarised translation of your documents in order to process your requests?
The notarised translation is the translation endorsed with the registered signature and stamp of the translator authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice, which is accompanied by the notary public closing certifying the authenticity of the signature of the authorized translator who performed the translation, under the Law of Notaries Public and Notary Activity no. 36/1995 and the Implementing regulation of the the Law of Notaries Public and Notary Activity no. 36/1995.
This type of translation is usually used in connection with state institutions and authorities, in Romania, in the European Union and abroad.

Notary Interpreting
Do you need the services of an authorized interpreter?
In order to conclude notarised deeds in Romania, EU citizens and foreigners must use the services of an interpreter authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice, either for their mother tongue or for another language for which they have sufficient skills (reading, writing, listening, understanding) – most often English.
The role of the interpreter is to mediate the communication process between the person concerned and the notary public, more precisely the role is to provide assistance in reading the documents, asking questions to the notary public and obtaining a good understanding of the legal issues.
The most frequent occasions are the conclusion of documents regarding the establishment of Companies, the amendment of the documents concerning Companies, powers of attorney, affidavits, signature specimens, sale-purchase agreements etc.
The interpreting service is also used in connection with:
- The General Inspectorate for Immigration, for obtaining residence permits, work permits, study permits, etc.
- The Civil Status Offices for concluding marriages
- The tax authorities, for enabling the communication process
- The criminal investigation bodies, for enabling the communication process
- The state authorities responsible for regulated professions, in the case of interviews for certain positions etc.
The authorized interpretation service is carried out at the headquarters of a notary office or at the headquarters of a public authority.
